MacBook completely dead
Battery, charger, USB-C/MagSafe, shorted rail or board fault may be involved.
MacBook logic board repair · Johannesburg
No power, no charging, backlight faults, liquid damage and component-level board problems. We diagnose first because a MacBook that appears “dead” does not automatically need a full logic-board replacement.

Board-level diagnosis
No power is a symptom, not a diagnosis. We separate simpler power-path faults from actual logic-board damage before quoting.
Battery, charger, USB-C/MagSafe, shorted rail or board fault may be involved.
A MacBook can be running with a failed display or backlight path. We test before calling it a screen.
Corrosion can affect several circuits. Stop charging and avoid repeated power attempts.
Port, charger, battery and board charging circuits need to be separated.
We explain when component repair is sensible and when replacement is the more reliable route.
Board-level repairs only proceed after the diagnostic result and repair route are approved.

What makes board work different
Screen and battery replacements are often predictable once the model is known. Logic-board repairs are different: the same “dead MacBook” symptom can come from multiple circuits. This page is designed to qualify the case, not promise a blind fixed price.
Diagnostic first
Logic-board faults cannot be priced responsibly from the symptom alone. We diagnose the board and quote before repair. The R350 diagnostic fee is waived when the approved repair proceeds.
Often yes, but no power can come from the battery, charger, charging path, shorted component, liquid damage or logic board. We diagnose before recommending a board repair.
Sometimes replacement is the practical route, but selected faults can be repaired at component level. The decision depends on the board, damage and repair economics.
