A-number, year and actual assembly

The underside A-number is useful, but send the year or About This Mac details when available. A family can cover more than one generation or configuration. A display advertised only by size or the words Air or Pro is not a complete compatibility check.

A complete repair quotation should describe the proposed assembly, its condition, fitting and warranty. Include lid and hinge damage and whether the MacBook still starts. A black screen without visible damage can require a different assessment from a cracked display.
